The GIGA

Being located in the heart of the University of Liege (Belgium) and physically integrated within the CHU of Liege, the GIGA is a major pole of research and development for activities in the biotech area.

This structure is unique in Belgium. Only a few similar centres in Europe have come so far in incorporating academic research, collaborations with companies, technology transfer centres and  vocational training facilities.

The novel concept of the GIGA (open laboratories, shared equipment) enhances multidisciplinarity and relies on a close collaboration between research and business.
